Self

Science communicators must creatively distill the science and see the compelling stories within the data — combining the arts and the sciences. As such, science writing requires a specific type of person: someone who wants to investigate the big picture of science, traverse disciplines, and tell stories – all at once. This is the art of simultaneously informing, inspiring, and fostering the curiosity of the audience. I love this work, and this is my art.

I hold a B.A. in Astronomy & Philosophy (summa cum laude) from the University of Colorado Boulder, and I have extensive science communication experience as a presenter and outreach specialist at Fiske Planetarium.

Now, I’m pursuing an MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT.

I write and produce articles and films about science, philosophy, and history — and where they intersect.
