Film Portfolio
Film is my favorite medium to communicate science. Filmmaking allows me to synthesize my backgrounds in science writing, planetarium work, and photography — injecting temporal breadth into the process. Both film and science are processes bound in time with stories extending in both directions. With this in mind, I strive to make them complimentary.
Development Is Like Climbing a Tree
by Its Leaves
A Xeric Soliloquy (…of sorts)
The Heritage of Earth's Exhalation
An Architecture of Two Spirals
The Astronomer’s Paradox
The Amnesia of Becoming Yourself
The Hidden Symmetry at Saturn's Pole
In Search of Cosmic Perfection
One Island Among Trillions
JWST: Seeing the Universe in Gold
The Lelev Project is my attempt to always remain a student. Through this series of short, pedagogical films, I aim to bring the planetarium style of science communication to two dimensional screens. The pathos of this project is ongoing and converging towards some interesting themes as I continue to develop as a filmmaker.
